[September 12, 2007] - Hello Shari! I must say, I have never heard the rumors concerning losing sensation from a pierced hood! If I had, I doubt I would have gotten mine done! I got my piercing done, on a whim I must admit, back in the mid-90's. I was dating a girl who wanted to get her nose pierced and the body modification artist liked me and offered to do it for just the cost of the jewelry. Looking back, it was a worthwhile investment... a whopping $15.00. As for the placement of my ring. There are two basic ways of getting the hood done; vertically and horizontally. I chose the vertical style merely because it seemed less likely to get caught on panties, the seams of jeans, etc. Plus, I liked the way it lined up with my belly ring. I commonly hear people mistakenly refer to this as a clit piercing, and normally let it slide in conversation unless the conversation is about someone going to get it done. The hood is NOT the clit! BIG difference! The hood, for those not in the know, it a sheath of skin which covers the almighty clit. Piercing your clit would render it useless and ...well... death first! *giggle* An experienced BMA (Body Modification Artist), knows where to ram steel through flesh and where not to, while I do encourage guiding your BMA to your preferences, if they say they cannot do it where ya want it... trust them! I would definitely get mine done again, if I were to travel back in time. I have enjoyed it and it has never gotten in the way of anything I wanted to do.
