[August 24, 2007] - Actually, I am not in Hollywood although I am in the Los Angeles area. The hayday of "blacklisting" is gone (that is not to say it never happens, just that is isn't AS frequent according to my inside source)... crossing over is not impossible, ask Traci Lords, just difficult. For the most part, adult actors are not known for their acting abilities. From personal experience, the cut in pay for starting out in mainstream makes it fairly unappealing. For a full day on-set with Days of Our Lives, I made less than $100 (I am AFTRA qualified, but not a paying member of that union; being a member would double my pay-rate), even a non-sex, non-nude fetish shoot generally gets me out in less than an hour with more cash in my pocket. I have managed to do mainstream gigs here and there under a different name and just prefer the hardcore lifestyle.
